Community headed by Mahuri Maha Mandal Gaya awarded Mahuri Kulbhushan, first ever award at Barbigha Meeting to the great social contributors and first publisher of Mahuri Mayank, Mr.Prabhudayal Gupta, resident of Jharia. He imported a running press from England in the year 1914 and named it "THE KAMALA PRESS" for the sole purpose of publishing Mahuri Mayank for free distribution, years together to Mahuri community from Jharia Coal belt. The Mahuri Samaj then was in such a stage, a way of communication felt desideratum, enhancement proved latter, a Mahuri, first time was appointed FICCI president(Late Lala Gurusharan Lal, son of Rai Bahadur late RAM CHAND RAM) which may will remain history.Late Prabhu Dayal was nominated privilege member of District Board of Manbhum District situated at Puralia, now in WB, some 80 kilometers distant from Jharia hometown, which he use to cover then by ' horse cart buggy' commonly known as FITTINGS. At that time, car was not invented and passenger train was not introduced and distance of 80 kilometer was considerable.
He not only made two different Mahuri Mahamanadals (Magadh and Hazaribagh) ad~idem to one, he first proposed his two brothers for the marriage in different Mahamandal, that was Hazaribagh, popularly known to be Dakhin Mandal and the Ruler of Hisua Estate, Babu Radhakant Lal also offered his son for marriage in different Mahamandal (Hazaribagh). From this three marriages the difference of the two Mahamandals started to resolving, today it has become one Mahuri Platform in India, where freely marriages takes place inter-se. Mahuris are still keen to further expansion of Mahuri Samaj with similar Vaishya Samaj according to their norms to save them from extinction which is shrinking rapidly.
With his sincere efforts first telephone exchange established at Jharia town and he was allotted telephone No.1 for his social establishment Kamala Press. At that time no meeting considered to be complete without his presence there within the town.
Expansion of Mahuri Samaj
Mahuri Vashya, a baniya cast, very negligible in size amonthe Baniyas any where, sometimes made worldwide recognition being monopolist, owning almost all of valuable mineral Mica in world and got honour of being Mica King of world and in India Mahuri FICCI president of the country in past.Presently Shri Om Prakashji,first mahuri person, is CMD South Eastern Coalfield Ltd.,one of the biggest coal producing co.of our country which is one of the subsidiary co. of Coal India Ltd.
Due to handful population, Mahuris are to wed in near relations only. Expansion in present scenario has become dir need of the society. Level of education has increased rapidly amongst Mahuris comparing with previous centuries,class of population considerably changed, likewise expectation of class of society is in need, for which educated class is not coming up for suitable change, neither they are in favour of traditional type social structure and meet which requires lot of time and patience, which they unable to spare. Under the circumstances, a virtual silent meet and social work interse on web is required to be done to save the society breaking up inclined to inter cast.
If we look back, we see, after releasing from the gripe of Aurangzeb's conversion catastrophe from city Mathura,

MAHURIS BE WARE OF the situation prevailing in Southern part of India where people are marrying near relations, even niece and maternal uncles get married and trapped into several genetic non treatable disorders , doctors are tired of making family trees of lineal ascendants of father side and mother side, to trace the real cause of disorders "whether patient married in very near blood relations?".
Now a days, Mahuris too are started marrying in same KHATA(GOTRA)and near in relations, not as near as South Indians do, still, heading towards near. Under the present situation we again have to find similar vaishya community for expansion to save inter cast marriages taking place very rapidly, reducing the alarming Mahuri population. A media of communication like Mahuri Mayank would be of great help, inter alia, for the purpose, apart from other efforts. Web is certainly helpful for residing abroad and off course in India too. The persons assembling together in some territories without the help of Mahamandal is really appreciable, they are really working fine and require to think on this line too, they can do it. Presently, working on National level is very much required for complete union and intuition to our coming generations for awareness of being Mahuri and create culture of our norms distinguishing from others. There is no harm even youngster interact within the society marrying in cast, which certainly will be better than inter cast marriages
which is alarmingly pushing us towards extinction. Fight of existence of Mahuris now required to be continued but at the same time we have to be very cautious, we have to be very careful as one of the very developed vaishya samaj is propagating saying shortage of female population within their cast, accepting Mahuri brides thereafter they are being leftover. Dahej (dowry) has become root cause of failure of SAMUHIK VIVAH SAMMELANS in their society. So we have to think over and over again then come forward and accomplish the goal of expansion.
